07/10/09

*Taps Mic* sorry - been having problems getting in to edit the website.  I'm here now with some joyous tales to tell you all.

Firstly - our events have been updated including some minor line-up changes.  Please check the events page to keep up to date with what's happened.

Next - new one to tell you about : December 10th - Grendel, Uberbyte and System:FX all at Independent, Sunderland - £12... bargain!

04/08/09

Phew - loads to tell you...It's all go in the world of Floorshow at the minute.

First up.

August 29th
Zeitgeist Zero + Spekulus
Chillingham Arms, Newcastle
£4

Headliners Zeitgeist Zero play in support of new album 'Dead to the World'. It's a fantastic record, undoubtedly Gothic but definitely modern. A cool piece of icing on the record is it's production by John Fryer (NIN, HIM, Cocteau Twins, etc). They were always a great band, but having John Fryer on board amplifies that.
They're also sporting a new line up, a full band. Definitely worth checking out.

Spekulus are a hard-working band also from Leeds. Having worked hard on their sound in the studio, they're unleashing themselves onto unsuspecting audiences around the country. Their industrial-metal sound is one that should appeal to many fans.

We do have a potential slot for a third band on this bill but are not pro-actively looking. If you're interested in playing, please check out both bands and get in touch if you feel you fit.

Later in the year...

November 14th
Rhombus + The Scary Bitches + Legion
Chillingham Arms, Newcastle
£5

An awesome triple-bill of some of the finest UK Goth acts.

Rhombus will be playing in support of their new album (due October) I can't yet tell you how great it is, but if it's anything like previous offering 'Rememberance Day' then you're in for a treat.
It's good traditional Goth but with a sharp spike of humour.
Tracks like "If you haven't been shot (you should be)", "You only want me when you're drunk" and "Love you 'til Closing Time" provide light comedy, as their titles suggest.

It's good to see The Scary Bitches back... they seemed to have disappeared to the mainland where they've been wooing international audiences - but now, after a tour with Gary Numan, they're back.
Their long-awaited third album 'Island of the Damned' is a real gem.

Opening act Legion are making a positive name for themselves and we're pleased to have them opening, partially because we probably won't be able to afford them in a few years time... there are too many 'hot new bands' in the world that go to nowhere - I think a Goth band as good as Legion surely have to go somewhere...

Remember - Nov 14 - be there or be a Sad Old Goth.

And, of course...

December 1st
Cruxshadows + All Living Fear + Novus
Independent, Sunderland
£12 adv.
www.seetickets.com www.ticketweb.co.uk

Yes, it's Cruxshadows. They do have a new album to tour for - if you've seen them before you know just how good they are - a great stage performance - popular club tracks - etc. and if you've not seen them before, why on Earth not?
OK, the price has creeped up a little from last time. But they really provide good value for money.

It's the first time in the region for quite a while for All Living Fear. It's also their only Northern date in 2009!
They are one of the prime 90's Rock-bands-that-were-popular-with-Goths and these days seldom play shows but always make them that extra bit special when they do.

To add to the value-for-money on this bill, we've added Novus. I've personally seen Novus probably more times than I need to - but because of this I know that their current line-up is their strongest ever. They're strong, committed and know exactly where they want to be. If you think you've seen them before, you're wrong, they're so much more now.

Some updates for the Combichrist show...

Firstly, there was a little bit panic this morning as seetickets.com was marked as "sold out".

I've increased their allowance so they have tickets again. However.... Floorshow, Charnel House and Forever in Black have ALL sold out of their allowances.

There are tickets available from www.seetickets.com , www.ticketweb.co.uk , www.gigantic.com , Hot Rats (Sunderland) - there may even be some on the door.

Advance tickets are £15. On the door tickets will be more... It is cheaper to buy now.

There are other amendments to this gig as well... Given how popular his sets went down (Das Ich and Gothminister both got up on the dancefloor!) DJ Feral will be providing tunes between bands again.

There will also be a soft drinks area of the bar to save queing for Under 18s. We can now grant 14+ access. But, remember Under 21s *must* have ID for the bar.

04/05/09

An important point I thought I'd duck in with about the Das Ich/Gothminister gig on Friday...  a few people I've spoke to have commented it's too expensive to get home from Sunderland. Now, with my tongue in my cheek I can say that if you live locally it's cheaper to get home from than the next nearest gig on the tour (Sheffield) - but aside from that...

There is a night bus, N56, departs Sunderland at 00.15, 01.15 and 02.15 - so if you want to disco dance afterward, or are worried about missing the last bus - well, they're on til late.

Hope that helps :-)

02/05/09

Under a week til Das Ich/Gothminister people - don't miss it!  We've already been given the thumbs up by the culture section of the Journal and feature on Vampire Freaks for this gig...you know it makes sense...

Also... our good friends The Cruxshadows are popping by on December 1st to play Independent in Sunderland again.  They'll be joined by All Living Fear.  Up until the end of May you can buy early bird tickets for just £10 - they'll increase after that..  these are available through www.seetickets.com and www.ticketweb.co.uk now...

22/04/09

Well... I've been quiet on the updates.

Firstly... Aesthetic Perfection will be performing as main support to Combichrist on May 25th.  Next, let's quash the rumours... Das Ich are performing on May 8th statement on that here

After that... some new gigs to tell you about....

May 16th - Lupine will play as part of The Charnel House night at Butlers.  This is on Nun Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne.  Opposite Reflex Records.

It's the first time a band has played as part of a Charnel House night, so come and be part of the experiment.
It's some Goth goodness for you on a Saturday night.

Door price is £3.50 - which is normal for Charnel House nights AND first 30 through the door get a free Lupine CD.
How ace?!

July 17th - Momento Mori play as part of one-off rock night Boneyard at Trojan Rooms in Whitley Bay.
The Teeside Goth Legends take to stage in a night filled of rock, metal, Goth and alternative.
Door price for this is £3 - tickets available in advance from www.thetrojanrooms.co.uk if you wish to reserve your place.
It's a rock til you drop kind of affair... as long as the place stays busy - the bar stays open...

10/03/09

Now only 2 days to Apoptygma Berzerk!!! We've taken advance tickets off sale on here.  Resellers are no longer dispatching tickets.  You can reserve for on-the-door collection with seetickets and ticketweb OR of course, paying on the door is fine...doors at 7.30pm - see you there!

25/02/09

Very brief update.  Floorshow HQ now has a *very* limited amount of tickets for the Apop, Combichrist, Das Ich, etc. gigs - click on tickets - these are the lowest booking fee on the Internet... once these are gone, it doesn't say the gig has sold out - but that you'll have to pay more for your tickets...

15/02/09

Ooh... plenty of news today.  Firstly... awesome shows last night from Dyonisis and Blind Before Dawn.  If you missed it, you missed out.  It was a brilliant show, plenty of fun all round.  Big thanks to both bands and all those that came up for it.  Photos are up now... click 'Gallery'

Next - Floorshow have another date to announce... woo... this time we're working with another promoter.   Floorshow and Psychonaut Promotions are teaming up to bring you Das Ich and Gothminister a tasty double headline tour to help warm both bands up for Gotham.  The date is May 8th and we're in Independent, Sunderland again.  We're really stoked to be working with Psychonaut Promotions, two heads are better than one and this promises to take this show to the next level.  Tickets on sale now - don't miss out!

31/01/09

Cor, getting exciting now.  Add Apoptygma Berzerk to the list of confirmed gigs.  Independent, Sunderland - March 12th.  Part of their 'Rocket Science' tour.  Tickets are £14, in line with the rest of the UK tour - available from www.ticketweb.co.uk www.seetickets.com www.gigantic.com 08444 771 000 - 0870 264 3333 - you know the drill.

Also - should point out that the Combichrist gig has become the fastest selling gig in Floorshow history.  There's still tickets available, but take it as a hint if you haven't got yours, you might wanna snap some up...

19/01/09

Yes... it's true.  We have indeed booked Combichrist - they're playing the Independent, Sunderland on May 25.  They will be providing tour support, I don't know who it is and have no control of it - but recent years have brought decent acts such as Ashbury Heights and Reaper to our shores so we can but hope... tickets are on sale now... www.ticketweb.co.uk www.seetickets.com www.gigantic.com 08444 771 000 - 0870 264 3333. I'm hoping to get a handful to sell on here as well.  OK... now, this next part is important, very important... don't say this too loud, but I think the gig might sell out y'know... it's not the biggest venue in the world but it is a bloody awesome live music venue which will do the band proud.  What I'm saying... buying tickets now is good.  It means that you don't get disappointed later... there are NO plans to move the venue if the gig sells out.  When tickets are gone, they're gone... buy now...

11/01/09

Just a very quick update... get along to www.thetrojanrooms.co.uk - you can see the venue we've got for Feb 14 (very nice!) and you can buy tickets for the event...  or book via phone 0191 251 0080 (this isn't a 24 hour number... afternoons may be your best bet...)

05/01/09

Firstly, happy new year.  Secondly, we've an important update to the Dyonisis / Blind Before Dawn show on February 14th.  Due to the interest this has generated  we have moved to a larger venue.  The Trojan Rooms in Whitley Bay is a purpose built live music venue - large capacity AND a later license.  As well as the two bands we've also a club night afterwards until 2am, a special Valentines Vampire Ball (period dress encouraged but not compulsory) - this is a fantastic looking event.  Two awesome bands - a club afterwards for you to dance into the wee hours - there's only one place to be this Valentines Day.... Unfortunately, given the upgrade in event, we've had to introduce a door price (advance tickets available soon) of £3.  I'm sure you'll agree this is quite reasonable for two bands and a club.  However... keep an eye out for ticket giveaways for this...

09/12/08

Got some support acts to tell you about... woo.... we're well chuffed to announce that Blind Before Dawn will be supporting Dyonisis on Feb 14th.

On June 26th, both Flesh Eating Foundation and Death Emitting Diode will be playing in support to Novus.

I really should stop being so lazy and take the pic of the Cruxshadows down from the top left corner y'know.

23/11/08

It was a couple of months ago I hinted about a future event "Waiting for another war (and waiting for my valentine)" and I'm now in a position to give you some details of what looks to be a great a event. On February 14th we've an event that sees Dyonisis returning to Newcastle.  This is one of those "You've talked, we've listened" gigs.  A lot of people have asked us to bring them back and a lot of people complained they only had a short set at Floorshow Festival in 2007 and virtually everyone agreed they should have been higher up the bill (although, I'm not sure who people thought should have been moved down... but hey ho).  There will be support act(s) but this it tbc and hopefully we'll have some announcements on that soon.  Now... for the best news.  The gig is free yes.  Free entry.  With it being Valentines Day we wanted to do something special - and due to a joint effort the gig will be subsidised by The Charnel House, TWF Magazine and GothicFriendFinder - big thanks to these for making this possible.  So, come along and have a great night - and there's plenty of beer and merch you can buy with the money you save on the door :-)

Next... we can also announce a gig for June 26th - also at The Chillingham Arms.  The headline act for this is Novus with support tba.  The price for this is £4.  Novus are another band people have asked for us to bring back.  We've had them a couple of times, but no full length set since May 2007 - so why not?

Hope to see you there!

22/09/08

Great night at Vlad in Tears the other night.  Pictures (alongside Cruxshadows pictures) in the gallery now.  We presently have no confirmed gigs, perhaps we're waiting for another war...

4/08/08

Advance Cruxshadows tickets taken off sale.  Price on the door is £12.

20/05/08

Another gig confirmed!  Italian Goth-Metal group Vlad in Tears will play Chillingham Arms, Newcastle with support from World is Static and Violet Vortex on September 18th 2008.  Tickets only £4, available now (under tickets)!  This will be a 14+ gig.  The upstairs bar will be closed and the downstairs bar operates a 'Challenge 21' system.  This gig is a tour provided by Dance on Your Grave and promoted by Floorshow!

On that, I neglected to mention the age 'restrictions' for The Cruxshadows gig.  Under 18's for Cruxshadows *must* be accompanied by a 'responsible' adult.  The venues definition of 'responsible' is 25+.

18/05/08

Yes, it's true.  The Cruxshadows are confirmed to be playing at The Independent in Sunderland with support from Cauda Pavonis.

We've got tickets (click 'tickets') but you can also get tickets from - The White Rooms and Hot Rats (Sunderland) or Reflex, Alt Vinyl, Steel Wheels and RPM (Newcastle) calling 0870 264 3333 or visiting www.seetickets.com - we've updated FAQ and Getting There accordingly

18/10/07

06/09/07
